The Electrical Engineer will provide assistance in maintain the maintenance and operational procedures for all the Electrical systems He/She with participate in a team of Engineers and Technical personnel to support the long term reliability and operability of the equipment and plant. This including operation support, studies, projects, campaign maintenance, frequency studies criticality studies etc.
In operation:• Ensure compliance of electrical equipment in accordance with Authority requirements
• Ensure the relevant qualifications of electrical technicians is maintained.
• Monitor and measure performance of relevant electrical equipment and report all deviation to target, Custodian of the Electrical Inspection and Maintenance Plan, utilising a risk-based methodology.
• Analyse and improve electrical equipment performance; usage of trends observed and future projections to decide on vulnerable equipment/processes that needs more regular monitoring.
• Providing technical support for electrical inspection and maintenance programmes and upgrade or modification projects
• Change management and approval of non-conformances. Supervision of maintenance of electrical equipment and installation in accordance with applicable technical and safety standards;
• Organizing and assessing electrical inspection and analysis findings in order to provide recommendations for integrity assurance.
• Review and update the inspection programme with the frequency of return inspections governed by the trends observed;
• Review and / or conduct power-system studies, including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, transient stability, and harmonic analysis. Prepare power-system models and analyses
• Coordination of power supply.
• Carry out “fitness for purpose” analysis and make recommendations with regard to extend of repairs.
• Liaise with relevant Authorities where necessary for endorsement of assessments, non-conformances, and repair recommendations/procedures;
• Engage support contractor in Risk Based Inspection and inspection work pack preparation;
• HSE followup of activities related to electrical discipline
Key Competencies
• Provide leadership in addressing electrical engineering issues with considerations of cost, schedule, and quality.
• Expert knowledge and experience of electrical engineering design and operations, inspection, and maintenance requirements for offshore electrical equipment, (high, medium, low voltage switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, grounding, lighting, power distribution, VFD, power correction, hazardous area classification, cathodic protection). Experience with subsea power systems is advantageous but not mandatory
• Expert level knowledge of regulations, relevant codes, standards and practices for assuring the technical integrity of the electrical equipment
• Ability to step up and take ownership of specific team efforts and to proactively champion technical issues and see them through to completion.
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, both written and oral, proficient in use of computer and Microsoft office software
Qualification requirements:• 5+ years of experience
• Chartered or Professional Engineer or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Senior/expert level of experience in electrical engineering design, operation, maintenance of high and low voltage equipment
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, both written and oral, Proficient in use of computer and Microsoft office software
It is preferable that applicants are proficient in Norwegian, written and spoken.
Work location: Stavanger
This position will be included in our Home Office Engineering establishment.
