CO2 Catch

IKM Ocean Design AS is developing techniques for extracting carbon dioxide (CO2) from combustion gases.

Our technology is substantially different from the already developed ones adapted for large power plants. Our focus is on smaller mobile units which are generally a greater environmental problem due to the actual number of units that exist. Smaller mobile units are not optimized in the same way as large units. They are run on a variety of fuels, from natural gas to diesel and even oil and the combustion is in many cases quite poorly controlled. In the end, this results in a lot of pollutants. The size of these power plants can be anywhere from 100 kW to 20 MW compared to for example about 400 MW for the Kårstø power plant. Engines of this size exist on everything from cars to airplanes and ships.

IKM Ocean Design AS is committed to the development of CO2 catch technology for mobile units.
